CHEMiCAL WARFARE PROJECT

There is one particular wall on Greene Street that has, over time, attracted quite a lot of graffiti.  I started taking pictures of the wall, one every day or two, with the intention of making a documentary of sorts, to see how the wall and the art on it changes over time.

The pictures will eventually make a time-lapse movie of how the wall evolves, a documentary of a kind of collectively created art project — lots of different contributions continually added to a living work of art.

If you know who those contributors are, please leave a note or comment on the picture in this Flickr set. It’d be nice if everyone got credit.

It’ll go on for a long time, I hope.  But for the time being, here is about eight months worth of material — August 2008 through the beginning of March 2009 — phase 1 of the project:
